14 killed in police operations in Negros Oriental

Anti-criminality police operations in Negros Oriental left 14 suspects dead Saturday.

Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office head Colonel Raul Tacaca was quoted by radio DZBB as saying that the suspects were killed in separate operations in Canlaon City and in the towns of Manjuyod and Sta. Catalina.

Information that reached Tacaca showed that eight of the fatalities were killed in Canlaon, four in Manjuyod and two in Sta. Catalina.

Initial reports showed that law enforcers were about to serve search warrants when the suspects allegedly open fired at them prompting policemen to fire back.

The police operations also resulted in the arrest of 12 suspects.
