Blaze Spikers look to wrap up elims, 14-0

Petron closes in on a sweep of the eliminations when it squares off with United Volleyball Club today in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at The Arena in San Juan.

The Blaze Spikers are coming off a masterful 25-21, 25-12, 25-20 victory over Sta. Lucia Realty to raise their win-loss record at 13-0. American Stephanie Niemer led all scorers for Petron with 23 points on 17 kills, three blocks and three aces.

Team captain Katherine Bell pitched in 13 points while local Mika Reyes added seven.

Kicking off the action at 4 p.m. F2 Logistics will look to tighten its grip on second spot when it meets bottom-dwelling Foton.

Both squads will be getting boosts from two former MVPs as Jaja Santiago returns for the Tornadoes while Maria Jose Perez suits up for the Cargo Movers.
