Nearly 80 percent of the official ballots to be used for the May 13 midterm polls have already been printed.
In an interview, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said as of March 20, the total ballots already printed is at 49,569,097 or 77.86 percent.
The poll body is set to print more than 63 million ballots for the upcoming electoral exercise.
Jimenez said only the ballots for two regions have yet to be printed which include those meant for the National Capital Region.
The printing machines are cranking out an average of one million ballots per day.
And with the current rate the ballot printing is going, Jimenez said they expect the printing to be finished earlier.
The Comelec was initially aiming to finish the ballot printing on April 25.
