In a press briefing and covenant signing event in San Juan City Wednesday, the People’s Choice Movement (PCM) endorsed Gary Alejano, Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, Pilo Hilbay, Romulo Macalintal, Mar Roxas, Erin Tañada, Neri Colmenares and Grace Poe as their senatorial bets in the May, 2019 Midterm Elections.

Dr. Melba Maggay, convenor of Bangay Pilipinas, said that candidates of PCM were not chosen because they are “saints.”

“They were chosen because they will stand and fight for the values and issues as Filipinos and Christians,” Maggay said.

“We were convened to ask for the votes of the people for our candidates, for we hope that they will fight for the rights of our fishermen who were turned away by China in the West Philippine Sea,” she said in Filipino.

“We hope they will be against the changes in our Constitution, the federalism, for example, that will give way to political dynasties,” she added.

Maggay also said PCM expect their candidates to improve the state of the economy in the country.

“The power is in our hands and our vote is our future,” she concluded.
