A Filipino restaurant made it to the list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Asia.
Toyo Eatery, a restaurant in Makati, placed 43rd on the prestigious list, with the owner Jordy Navarra receiving the award in Macau Tuesday.
Many consider the award to be similar to being given a Michelin star, which is only given to the best restaurants in the world.
The establishment started in 2016 and was operated by Navarra who was schooled in famous restaurants like The Fat Duck and Bo Innovation.
Toyo Eatery is known for serving Filipino dishes with the original ingredients to maintain its distinct flavor.
Among their best-sellers are the BBQ silog, a modern twist to the popular street food, as well as desserts like charred cassava cake and chocolate bonbons with fish sauce and salted caramel.
