P45.7-M cocaine bricks turn up in Catanduanes anew

CAMP OLA, Albay – Seven bricks of cocaine inside a black fishnet were recovered by three fishermen Monday afternoon floating in the waters of Barangay Bugao, Bagamanoc town in Catanduanes.

They immediately turned it over to the Bagamanoc municipal police station.

The discovery came 18 days after brick of cocaine was discovered in the waters of Baras also in Catanduanes last March 7. It had an estimated street value of P5M.
Chief Inspector Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) spokesperson, said the seven cocaine bricks had a dollar sign each on its cover.
“Ang total weight po ng recovered per PNP report is 8.635 kilos. So the total value po nyan ay P45,765,500.00 kasi 1 kilo of cocaine is equivalent to 5.3M,” Cotton Yuson, spokesperson of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bicol  told Manila Bulletin.
