5 feared dead in Negros bus crash

Iloilo City—At least five people are feared dead after a passenger bus fell of a ravine in Don Salvador Benedicto town, Negros Occidental province Monday night.

According to reports coming from Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, the Ceres bus fell into a ravine along Igmaya-an village past 9 pm when the driver lost control.

Authorities are still trying to identify the casualties and the injured. Based on information from the Don Salvador Benedicto police, there are survivors including the driver and conductor.

Information is still sketchy, but the bus is reportedly hanging upside down almost 40 feet down.

The bus owned by Vallacar Transit came from San Carlos City and was on its way to Bacolod City, the provincial capital, when the incident occurred.
