Go asks supporters to take posters, tarps down, says he can win in polls ‘fair and square’

President Duterte former top aide Bong Go appealed to his supporters to remove his face and name from posters and tarpaulins, adding that he can win in the May senatorial elections fair and square.

Go made the statement after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) issued another notice for him to remove illegal posters. The Comelec also ordered for the removal of Malasakit Center posters.

In a statement, Go renewed his appeal to his supporters to help the less fortunate instead of spending money for his senatorial bid.

“Paulit-ulit ko na po sinabi, tanggalin niyo na po mukha at pangalan ko sa posters at tarps. Huwag niyo na po ikabit iyan. Itulong niyo nalang sa mga nangangailangan (I have asked you so many times, remove my face and name from posters and tarpaulins. Don’t put them up. Spend your money for the less fortunate ones),” he said.

“Paalala sa supporters ko, lalaban tayo ng patas at naaayon sa batas. Kung may nakikita kayong materyales na nakakabit sa lugar na bawal pagkabitan, magtulungan tayong tanggalin (Reminder to my supporters: We will fight fairly and lawfully. If you seen an illegal poster, remove it),” he added.

Go also appealed to government employees to not engage in partisan politics like what President Duterte has repeatedly stated in his speeches.

“Paalala rin sa mga government employees, stay neutral. ‘Yan ang utos ng Pangulo. Itago niyo nalang sa puso ninyo sino tingin ninyo dapat magserbisyo sa kapwa Pilipino (Also a reminder to government employees: Stay neutral.

That is the President’s order. Just keep to yourselves who you would want to serve the people),” he said.

Netizens have been complaining about Malasakit Center posters bearing the image of Go that have been put up in several parts of the country. Duterte earlier said that Go was the brains behind Malasakit Center, or the one-stop shop for medical assistance for the poor.

According to the Comelec, they have already asked the Department of Health (DOH) to remove Malasakit Center tarpaulins with Go’s face and name on them.
