The NLEX Corporation has reduced its toll rate hikes by P1 to mitigate the impact of recent adjustments approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) which shall take effect on March 20.

The TRB has originally approved a P10 adjustment which includes the new add-on toll rate of P6 applicable to the open system upon the completion of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 and P4 for the open system as part of the initial tranche of approved periodic adjustments due in 2013 and 2015.

The NLEX Corporation said Class 1 vehicles or ordinary cars shall be imposed a P9 toll increase from P45 to the new rate of P54.

Class 2 or buses and trucks will be imposed a toll rate of 22 (instead of P23) from P114 to P136 while Class 3 or large trucks and trailers will be charged with a toll rate of P28 (instead of 29) from P136 to P164.

“The reduced toll increases are already reflected in the recently issued toll fare guide for those motorists travelling the entire NLEX. For customers’ convenience, the fare guide will also include the combined toll fee computation for both NLEX and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX),” according to NLEX Corporation.

The tollway operator further said that the SCTEX is not included in the toll increase.

The toll rate increases were approved by the TRB following the recent opening of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 traversing the cities of Valenzuela, Malabon, and Caloocan.
