Woman nabbed after stealing, selling helmet online

A woman, who allegedly stole a helmet and tried to sell it online, was arrested by police in an entrapment operation in Marikina City Saturday.

Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ma. Genalyn Biador.

Initial investigation showed that at around 4 p.m. Friday, motorcycle courier Alan David Alfonso, 26, parked his motorcycle in front of a store along Gen. Ordoñez Street in Barangay Marikina Heights, Marikina City to pick up an item for delivery.

Alfonso hung his helmet on the vehicle’s side mirror but when he returned, it was gone. A close-circuit television footage showed that a woman took the helmet, police said.

In an attempt to recover the item, Alfonso posted the incident on Marikina News Facebook page where he received a reply that a helmet, similar to his, was up for sale in a buy and sell Facebook page.

After finding out that the helmet was his, Alfonso contacted the seller, identified as Biador, and told her that he was interested on buying the item, police said.

At around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the police set up an entrapment operation where they nabbed Biador in front of a funeral parlor along Balubad Street in Barangay Nangka, Marikina City, and recovered from her possession the stolen helmet of Alfonso, police said.

Riding-in-tandem guns down electrician in Makati

An electrician was shot by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen in Makati City on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as 35-year-old Christopher Porlaje, of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Around 8 p.m., Porlaje was waiting for his girlfriend along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay Pitogo, Makati when two men aboard a motorcycle suddenly appeared and shot him.

The motorcycle-riding armed men then immediately sped off. They were reportedly bringing their guns with them, witnesses told cops.

Porlaje was rushed to the Ospital ng Makati.

Investigators said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in his right hand, and left foot.

P200 K worth of shabu seized in Navotas sting

About P200,000 worth of shabu were seized from five suspects in a buy-bust operation at Barangay North Bay Boulevard South, Navotas City on Saturday afternoon.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Emmanuel Magos, alias “Tawe,” 27; Reymar Velasco, alias “Tano,” 26; John Cedrick Largo, 18; Regie Cuevas, 18; and a 17-year-old boy who police identified as “Rommel.”

Investigators confirmed that Magos and Velasco are members of the BANDAMME Armed Group, a drug-peddling and gun-for-hire syndicate operating around Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela.

Joint elements of Northern Police District (NPD) Special Operations Unit and the Navotas City Police Station conducted the buy-bust for firearm at Anthorium Street in Navotas City at around 2 p.m.

Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested after a poseur buyer bought a caliber 9mm revolver and five live ammunition worth P6000 from them.

Seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 54 grams and worth about P200,000 were recovered from the suspects, along with the firearm and marked money.

The seized illegal drugs were brought to the NPD Crime Laboratory Office in Valenzuela City for laboratory examination.

The suspects, who are now under police custody, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Police net knife-wielding man following home robbery in Taguig

A man armed with a knife was arrested on Sunday after he barged in and robbed a home in Taguig City.

The suspect was identified by police as Jomar Glino. Glino was arrested by responding police officers after the complainant cried for help.

Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 5 in the morning at Marcelo 1 Extension, Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City.

The suspect’s arrest stemmed from the complaint of Jesus Regalado and a concerned citizen Manuel Baleing.

According to authorities, Regalado caught the suspect who took his cellphone, and an envelope containing P600 cash.

The suspect immediately went out of the house after hearing Regalado shouted that there was a robber on the loose. Baleing, upon hearing this, tried to block the suspect’s way but was thrust in the body with the suspect’s knife.

They both sought assistance from patrolling police officers and barangay watchmen and through a follow-up operation along Antonio Drive corner Laura Drive Barangay Bagumbayan, where they were able to arrest the suspect.

2 druggies nabbed in Caloocan buy-bust

Two drug suspects, including one who is listed in the police’s drug watchlist, were nabbed in a sting at Barangay 12, Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City on Sunday.

Arrested were John Wilson Deticio, 26; and Normalyn Rabe, 26; both jobless and residents of the area.

Police said Deticio is listed as a drug pusher in the police’s drug watchlist.

According to a report, the suspects were arrested after a poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu weighing .15 grams and worth about P500 from them.

Police recovered another sachet of suspected shabu weighing .80 grams and worth about P3,000, a caliber .22 pistol, five caliber .22 live ammunition, and the marked money from the suspects.

The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
