Early this year, LinkedIn, world’s largest professional network site, released a report showing that for the last five years, the top emerging jobs in the Philippines are related to tech. These are five emerging roles that are sought by companies:

Data Scientist
• Job Role: A multi-disciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to extract knowledge and insights from data in various forms, structured and unstructured, similar to data mining.
• Course: Bachelor's/ College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Physics
• Skills Required: Knowledgeable in Data analysis, Python, SQL, R programming, Machine Learning Application
• Salary: P20,000-40,000
Application Development Analyst
• Job Role: Responsible for the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of software infrastructures and applications. Design and development of existing and new applications, road testing, and implementation of new application.
• Course: Bachelor's/ College Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
• Skills Required: Knowledgeable in SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Java, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• Salary: P25,000 and above
Back End Developer
• Job Role: Responsible for writing the web services and APIs used by front-end developers and mobile application developers. They are usually called the web developer.
• Course: Bachelor's/ College Degree in Computer Science
• Skills Required: Knowledgeable in Java Script, PHP, MySQL, Java, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), jQuery Full

Full Stack Engineer
• Job Role: Responsible for developing and implementing software programs for a company. This role has a heavy focus on programming for software development. Needs to work with programming tasks like design patterns and data structures.
• Course: Bachelor's/ College Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
• Skills Required: Knowledgeable in Java Script, PHP, MySQL, Java, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), jQuery
• Salary: P40,000 and above
Sales Development Representative
• Job Role: Helps generate and facilitate sales for a company. They may be involved in initiating contact with potential customers through phone calls, known as outbound prospecting/cold-calling, or they may respond to inquiries that are generated through advertisements, known as inbound lead follow-up.
• Course: Bachelor's/ College Degree
• Skills Required: Knowledgeable in Customer Service, Sales, Leadership, Management, Marketing
• Salary: P20,000 and above
