ILOILO CITY – Two graduates of West Visayas State University (WVSU) in this city landed in the Top 10 of the 2019 Physician Licensure Exam.
Clinton Vasquez Rosita Rabadon ranked first with a rating of 89.83 percent, while Temie Paul Baguio Villarino ranked ninth with a rating of 87.42 percent.
“We are very happy with the results. That’s what we have been training them for—to serve the people,” said Dr. Luis Sorolla Jr., WVSU president.
Sorolla told The Manila Bulletin WVSU also had a 100-percent passing rate for the Physician Licensure Exam.
Over the past several decades, WVSU has consistently performed highly and produced several physicians who finished in the top 10 of the board exams.
The state university draws medical students from all over the country. In fact, Rabadon is from Masbate, while Villarino hails from Dipolog City.
The WVSU Alumni Association, led by lawyer Dennis Ventilacion, is also celebrating the university’s latest high-ranked performance. WVSU has also produced top board passers for the nurses and teachers licensure exams.
