The Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) is demanding an explanation from its members, who were included in President Duterte’s narco-list.

Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Friday said the PDP-Laban members, who were denounced by Duterte as narco-politicians, were in danger of being kicked out from the ruling political party.

During a meeting with the National Peace and Order Council (NPOC) in Davao City on Thursday, Duterte read the names of 46 local government officials allegedly involved in the drug trade.

Pimentel did not disclose how many or who of the 33 mayors, eight vice mayors, three congressmen, a board member, and a former mayor mentioned by Duterte were from the PDP-Laban, but said they would have to explain their inclusion in the narco-list.

“We will require all those on the list who turn out to be PDP-Laban members to explain why they have been linked in a verified list to drugs and if we find their explanation to be unsatisfactory then we will expel them from the PDP-Laban,” the reelectionist senator said.

Duterte is chairman of the PDP-Laban. In deciding to making public the names of the local politicians, he said he trusted the government agencies who vetted the narco-list.
