Duterte to distribute CLOAs to 2,095 beneficiaries in Davao region today

DAVAO CITY – President Rodrigo Duterte will lead the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to the farmers of Davao Region Friday afternoon.

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) 11 regional director Joseph Orilla bared that Duterte will give away a total of  4,525.5617 hectares (ha) to 2,095 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARB) at the University Gymnasium.

Orilla said the awarding of CLOA to the recipient farmer-beneficiaries in the region was the “penultimate” step towards completion of the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

"This will secure the ownership of the ARBs to the lands awarded to them," he said.

He added that, of the total ARBs, 655 came from Davao del Norte followed by  Compostela Valley with 481, Davao del Sur 312,  Davao Oriental 277, Davao City 200, and Davao Occidental 17O.

Of the total hectare of lands to be distributed, Davao del Norte ARBs will partake of 2, 429 ha, followed by Davao Oriental with 7000 ha, Compostela Valley 584.0726 ha, Davao del Sur 293. 8050 ha, Davao City 279, 6841 ha and Davao Occidental 239 ha.

Orilla said the next phase after the distribution would be the rendering of support services to the beneficiaries through capacity development training and common service facilities.

He said after the distribution this afternoon, there will be also distribution of nine dump trucks and harvesters to the five provinces and city.
