Army unit recovers high powered firearms in Bulacan

The Army’s 48th Infantry Battalion recovered firearms cache at Sitio Balite, Brgy. Bangkal, Norzagaray, Bulacan, on Friday.

A military report disclosed that troops from the 48th IB acted on the information provided by the residents who pointed the location of the arms cache.


The firearms recovered at about 8 a.m. Friday include two M16A1 rifles.

The said firearms were taken to the headquarters of the 48th IB at Brgy Pulong Sampaloc, DRT, Bulacan for proper custody.

Major General Lenard T. Agustin, the Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, commended the troops for the recovery of the arms cache. He likewise expressed his thanks to the support of the community.

“The recovery of the firearms through the information provided by the community is proof that the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) already lost its influence on the people,” Colonel Rowen Tolentino, the Commander of the 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade, said.

Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M. Valdez, the acting Commanding Officer of the 48th IB, thanked the residents who tipped of the location of the firearms.

He also ensured the community that the Guardians Troopers will continue to protect and keep safe the people in its area of responsibility.
