President Duterte has offered safe refuge to a person allegedly sexually abused by a priest after the victim pleaded for government protection.

Speaking at the national peace and order council meeting in Davao City Thursday, the President disclosed that he met the abuse victim and offered Davao City where the person could stay for now.
“I met the victim doon sa ‘yung sa Bacolod ba ‘yon? Ah sa Lapu-Lapu. Hindi sir ‘yung ano ‘yung nirape ng pari? --- begging for protection ,” Duterte said during the meeting with top security officials.
“Somebody must have guided them here. Sabi ko dito na lang muna kayo sa Davao ,” he said.
Duterte made the remark as he renewed his angry tirade against the alleged abuses involving some priests in the country.
He denounced that some priests were allegedly involved in “acts of lasciviousness” and other abuses while others were allegedly hooked on illegal drugs.
“And this time, the most horrible crimes are committed in the Philippines because they kill the husband, they kill the wife, they rape daughters pati infants. Pati pari nakasali na,” he said.
Duterte also lamented that the priests criticize his government as if they were clean. Amid reports some priests were receiving death threats, Duterte said he doesn’t care if the clergymen end up dead.
“They tried to picture me na ‘pag namatay sila, ‘yung may --- I should be blamed because of my outburst. The hell. Wala akong pakialam kung mamatay kayo ngayon lahat. Maluwang pa ang ating cemetery,” he said.
