6 to 20-hour water service interruption to continue – Manila Water

Customers of Manila Water will continue to experience 6 to 20-hour water service interruptions, the spokesperson of the company said Wednesday.

Dittie Galang, manager for communications planning and tactical development of Manila Water said in an interview over radio DZMM, the water level in La Mesa Dam continues to go down, consequently affecting their water service operations.

"Mayroon mga lugar na aabutin ng hanggang 20 hours a day walang tubig. Apat na oras po silang magkakaroon ng tubig pero sigurado po na within those 4 hours ay mayroon silang tubig sa mga gripo nila," Galang said.

(There will be places where there will be no water for 20 hours a day. They will have water for four hours and in those hours there will certainly be water flowing from their faucets.)

She said that most of the barangays will have 11-hour interruptions while others will have 6-hour interruptions.

Some 52,000 households in Manila Water’s east zone have been suffering from the water interruptions for six days now.

Galang further revealed that a new scheme will be set in place wherein there will be a definite schedule for the water interruption which will be spread across the east zone.
