Seven Chinese nationals have been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for allegedly kidnapping a compatriot, and asking P200,000 for his release.
NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the arrested Chinese as Lou Gen Jin, Cheng Yiguo, Liu Shengghui, Deng Shuijin, Xiong Jinxiang, Xiong Jongpeng, and Xiong Jilong.
The suspects were arrested by agents of the NBI in operations conducted in Pasay and Parañaque Cities last March 10.
Their victim, Chinese national Jian Shi Xin, positively identified the suspects as the persons who kidnapped him.
The victim recounted that he was abducted from Okada Manila casino and hotel in Parañaque City.
He said he was detained at the Balagtas Royale Mansions in Pasay City where he was beaten up by the suspects over the P200,000 he owed them.
The victim was released last March 10 after the victim’s brother sent the ransom money to the suspects.
Following his release, the NBI was sought for assistance and told where the victim was kept.
Five of the suspects were found and arrested at the Balagtas Royale Mansions, while, the two others were located and apprehended at the Solaire resort and casino in Parañaque City.
Complaints have been filed before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office against the suspects for kidnapping and serious illegal detention under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code.
