Naval Forces Western Mindanao welcomes new commander

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NavForWeM) Commander Vice Admiral Rene V Medina formally relinquished his post to Rear Admiral Erick A Kagaoan in a change of command ceremony held at Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in this city, Thursday, March 7.

The event was presided by the Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy (FOIC, PN) Vice Admiral Robert A Empedrad who handed over the command symbol to Kagaoan, ushering him as the new commander of NavForWeM based in this city.

In his speech, FOIC, PN gave recognition to Medina and his legacy in the PN was magnified when he was designated as commander of NFWM  for two years. Kagaoan is a member of Philippine Military Academy “Hinirang“ Class of 1987 and is a highly educated and trained naval officer both local and abroad.
