BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The provincial government and the Department of Agriculture (DA) is eyeing a partnership to boost cacao farming in the province.
According to Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Resolution No. 264 that was sponsored by Board Member Benjamin Serrano Jr., the cacao production expansion project will involve an appropriation of P1,875,000 that will be distributed to cacao farmers organization.
The project will utilize 50 hectares of land for 15 upland farmers in the towns of Orani, Abucay, and Orion, along with the city of Balanga.
P1.5 million of the P1,875,000 will come from the DA and the balance from the provincial government.
