A study for the Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index showed that Spain is the healthiest country in the world.
Spain beat Italy and Iceland to the top of the roster consisting of 169 countries.
Japan was the highest-ranked among Asian countries at fourth place. The Philippines was not among the 20 healthiest countries in the world.
Researchers who were commissioned for the study analyzed data gathered by the World Health Organization, United Nations Population Division and the World Bank.
Among the factors considered to determine the ranking of the countries on the list were lifestyle, tobacco use, obesity and access to clean and safe water.
All these factors were assessed and each country was given a health grade. Spain received a grade of 92.75.
Italy which came in second got a 91.59 health grade while Iceland got 91.44.
