P244.8M worth of shabu seized in Cavite

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday seized some 36 kilos of shabu worth P244,800,000 during a search conducted at a rented house of a Chinese in Cavite.

PDEA Director-General Aaron Aquino barged into the residence of Jun Wah Ting in Block 37 Lot 7 Citrus St. Pacific Park Place Barangay Paliparan, Dasmariñas town armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Agripino Morga.

At about 5 p.m., the PDEA team searched the house of Wah Ting and discovered the contraband which also included numerous backpacks believed to be used in delivering the illegal drugs.

PDEA agents arrested Wah Ting and Patrick Bangkee on the same day at around 3 a.m. and confiscated from them two kilos of shabu and 15 plastic bags of shabu worth P13.6 million during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

The early morning buy-bust operation was conducted at 33 Don Ramon St. Talayan Village where the raiding team also seized four cellular phones, numerous ATM cards and P5,000 cash.

Aquino said that Wah Ting has been under surveillance for months.

The PDEA chief noted that Wah Ting who is also an illegal drug kingpin is the supplier of the vehicles used by Vincent Lim Du to transport illegal drugs in Metro Manila, Southern Tagalog, and nearby areas.

On February 3 Du Lim and Hong Li Wen were killed as PDEA agents and the police seized P1.9 billion worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation at a warehouse in Tanza, Cavite.
The operation conducted at Barangay Amaya 1 Antero Soriano Highway led to the confiscation of 272 kilos of illegal drugs.
