A complaint has been filed against the Chinese woman, who splashed taho (soya pudding) at a policeman at the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3) station in Mandaluyong City on Saturday.
The complaint was filed against Jiale Zhang, 23, before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Mandaluyong City, a copy of which was furnished to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Under the complaint, Zhang was accused of having committed unjust vexation, disobedience to an agent of person in authority, and direct assault.
Zhang, a fashion student, was stopped at the MRT 3 station in Mandaluyong City for carrying a cup of taho and was told to consume it before being allowed entry.
The MRT management has been implementing a no-liquid policy inside the station and train premises as part of the security measures following the twin bombing at the Jolo Cathedral which was perpetrated by two suicide bombers.
Insisting that she bring the taho with her, she was approached by PO1 William Cristobal, who tried explaining to her why she can’t.
However, Zhang threw the cup of taho at the policeman, who got splashed on his uniform.
The incident was caught on video which went viral on social media, resulting in the arrest of the Chinese woman.
