SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Government authorities discussed security arrangements and preparations for the May elections at a forum in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Henry A Robinson Jr., commander of the Army’s 702nd Brigade, led the discussions at annual Provincial Level Security Assessment Forum (PLSAF) attended by police and the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) officials in Pangasinan.
“We realized this forum to identify the programs and activities in relation to the Army and PNP’s campaign for declaring Pangasinan as insurgency-free, said Robinson.
Last June 13, the 702nd Brigade and the Pangasinan police signed a recommendation to the Pangasinan provincial government endorsing the province as “insurgency-free”.
But the forum focused on the preparation of the Army and PNP for the upcoming elections.
