MUNAI, Lanao del Norte – Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) commander Hadji Assadullah Macapaar alias commander Bravo appealed to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte that if he truly has a Moro blood, he would support the inclusion of six municipalities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Bravo said he would want to see more “Yes” votes coming in from Lanao del Norte in an interview at the MILF-BIAF’s general headquarters in Camp Bilal on Tuesday.

“Kung kami ang tatanungin, gusto namin na masubrahan pa iyong naging resulta ng plebisito sa Lanao del Sur at sa Marawi City,” he said. (We would want stronger results coming in from Lanao del Sur and Marawi City.)

But this was opposed by Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo who is not in favor of the inclusion of the six municipalities in the BARMM.

Bravo pleaded to President Duterte that if he truly has Moro blood, he would convince the Commission on Elections, the military, and the mayors to support this cause in achieving peace.

“Nananawagan sa mahal nating presidente na tulungan itong six municipalities na masama sa Bangsamoro” he said. (I appeal to the President to work on the inclusion of these six municipalities in the Bangsamoro.)

He also pleaded support from the Christian population in the province for unity and peace in Lanao del Norte.

They also offered to protect the civilians so they could freely vote during the second plebiscite on February 6.

He urged Rep. Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimaporo: “kung hindi ka tutulong sa pagboto ng yes, pabayaan mo, bigyan mo ng freedom iyong mga taga Lanao del Norte kung ano iyong dapat at kung ano iyong nakikita nilang makabubuti sa kanila, kung saan sila papanig yes or no at huwag natin silang takutin,” said Bravo. (If you are not helping the “Yes” vote win, just leave it be and allow your people to vote freely. Don’t threaten them.)

Six out of 22 mayors supported the inclusion of the six municipalities in the BARMM including Maigo town Mayor Rafael Rizalda who is known to be the enemy of Commander Bravo.

“Nakita na ito nga sinsero. Kung dili lang masagulan ug politika, dali ra nga usahon ang muslim ug kristiyano” Rizalda said. (I saw the sincerity. If not for politics, Muslims and Christians could easily be united).

Rizalda is one of the non-Muslims who have helped the MILF campaign for yes to BOL.
