The Philippine government has sought the help of the Indonesian authorities in locating a Filipina tourist who has been missing in the capital city of Bali since Christmas.

The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta said it has filed a missing person report for Ella Balmaceda Paaño, 26 years old, after her family in the Philippines reported losing contact with her since December 25.

Ambassador to Jakarta Leehiong Wee said Paaño, a resort worker in Coron, left for Bali on December 22 and was supposed to have returned to the Philippines on December 28.

Paaño’s relatives told the Department of Foreign Affairs that her mobile phone cannot be contacted and her last Facebook post was on December 24.

On Tuesday, Paaño’s sisters went to Manila from Camarines Sur to seek assistance in finding her.
