BUTUAN CITY - As a show of full support for the holding of a safe and peaceful May 2019 mid-term polls, the Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) is spearheading a ‘Unity Walk’, Interfaith Prayer Rally on Sunday, Jan. 13, the start of the election period.

The assembly area is at Butuan City Sports Complex and the destination will be the Agusan del Norte Capitol Grounds here.
The regional command of PRO 13 is inviting all candidates from the different political parties, religious group, academe, civic groups, NGOs, private and government agencies and media to participate in the peace event. Also invited to participate are teachers and students.
“Candidates are invited to the unity walk which will show their sportsmanship as candidates,” PRO 13 Regional Director Chief Supt. Gilberto DC Cruz told The Manila Bulletin on Friday.
Police Director General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, PNP Deputy Chief for Operations will also join the Unity Walk.
After the Unity Walk, a Peace Covenant Signing for the 2019 Mid-term Election will also take place.
Cruz expressed confidence that the election in Caraga region would be peaceful.
“With a history of zero violent election-related incidents, I am confident that our candidates will be a good sport in this election and no violence will happen,” he added.
Cruz also reminded candidates and the public to abide by the election gun ban, which will also begin on January 13.
