At CES 2019, Canon’s appearance at one of the world’s biggest annual consumer technology show can be summed up with its five new products: the Rayo S1 portable mini projector, PIXMA TS702 inkjet printer, and VIXIA HF G50, W10, and W11 camcorders.
Canon Rayo S1
Weighing 227g and measuring 101.6mm x 101.6mm, the Rayo S1 portable mini projector is a small but mighty image solution capable of projecting up to 84 inches and is equipped with 4GB of internal storage. For convenient usage, the Rayo S1 features a smart touchpad for easy navigation, on-screen QWERTY keyboard for typing, and a built-in Internet browser (connectivity supported by a Wi-Fi chip), running on Android OS. The tripod-mountable mini projector can also double as a power bank to recharge smartphones and other compatible devices. Canon’s Rayo S1 is scheduled to hit US stores in May at an estimated price of $259.99.
Canon VIXIA HF G50
The first VIXIA G-series camcorder to feature 4K 30p recording in MP4 format, Canon’s VIXIA HF G50 is ideal for advanced amateur filmmakers, wedding videographers, and student reporters. Under the hood, this camcorder packs a 4K 1/2.3-inch sensor and Canon’s very own DIGIC DV 6 image processor. Image distortion is reduced with the help of Canon’s Intelligent Optical Image Stabilization five-axis system, while difficult angles can be achieved, thanks to the built-in 3-inch LCD touch panel screen and tilting Electronic View Finder (EVF). Equipped with a wide-angle Canon 20x (29.3-601mm optical zoom lens, it offers a well-rounded feature at a relatively affordable price of $1099.
Canon VIXIA HF W11 and HF W10
Dustproof, shockproof, and waterproof down to a depth of five meters, the VIXIA HF W11 and the HF W10 are Canon’s two rugged additions to the VIXIA line that you can bring to many adventures, from trips to the beach for swimming or the mountains for hiking. Capable of AVCHD Full HD video recording, the camcorders are equipped with 40x optical and 60x digital zoom lens. The key difference between the two models relies on the internal storage: the W11 packs 32GB that can house up to 13.5 hours of HD video, while the W10 has 8GB that can hold up to three hours of footage. Nevertheless, both devices can accommodate a removable SD card for expanded storage, and feature a 3-inch touch panel LCD as well. Like the G50, the W11 and the W10 are slated for an April 2019 release in the US for $449.99 and $399.9 respectively.
Canon PIXMA TS702
With a smaller footprint, thus occupying less desk space in comparison to its predecessor the PIXMA iP7220 printer, the new Canon PIXMA TS702 printer is a high-volume printer capable of producing high-quality prints including documents and photos. In a workspace environment, the TS702 can become a dependable workhorse that boasts up to 350 pages of paper capacity for documents and is compatible with optional extra-large ink tanks. At a home scenario, the TS702 can become an effortless artist that allows you to print photos straight from a smartphone on a variety of media wirelessly. The Canon PIXMA TS702 is now available for $129.99 in the US.
