Sony’s first 8K LCD TVs debut along with new 4K TVs at CES 2019

Placing itself at the forefront of home entertainment, Sony is showcasing at CES 2019 its latest televisions that are set to captivate the visual and aural senses of many households across the globe.

Sony Corporation President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida stated: “Sony is a Creative Entertainment Company. We at Sony partner with content creators who make the music, the movies, the television shows and the games that engage billions of eyes and ears and minds around the world. We’d like to showcase how Sony’s professional grade technologies support creators across the entertainment industries to produce compelling content. You will also see how our consumer products connect creators and users by enabling people to enjoy content at the highest possible quality.”

Yoshida also introduced that “Communities of Interest”, communities of people who share similar interests, emotional values, and experiences, are formed around Sony’s world-class entertainment content and hardware products. He also asserted that “with our technology, Sony is also there to deliver the very best entertainment experience to the fans and fill the world with emotions.”

Sony’s CES booth this year highlights the BRAVIA MASTER Series Z9G (98″/85″), the Japanese brand’s first 8K LCD televisions. The Series features the company’s next-generation  X1 Ultimate image processor equipped with 8K ultra-resolutions algorithm custom database, allowing for the 8K X-Reality PRO to upconvert any content to 8K resolution. With the image processor working together with Sony’s Backlight Master Drive technology, a newly-developed LED module and control algorithm optimized for 8K, the Series promises to bring high resolution and high contrast picture quality images to life in stunning fashion. The Series also features Acoustic Multi-Audio, incorporating four speakers and above and below the screen for added immersiveness.

Sony’s 4K OLED TV lineup is topped by the flagship BRAVIA MASTER Series A9G (77″/65″/55″). Boasting a profile that is half thinner than the previous models when wall-mounted, the Series also features the X1 Ultimate image processor, in addition to the Pixel Contrast Booster panel control technology which aims to faithfully reproduce everything from the deepest blacks to the highest luminosity colors with vibrancy. In terms of audio, the Series also features Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, Center Speaker Mode, and Dolby Atmos compatibility.

Other BRAVIA 4K TV lineups that are present at Sony’s booth at this year’s CES include the A8G Series 65″ and 55″ Class, and the X950G Series 85″, 75″, 65″, and 55″ Classes. Pricing and retail availability of these new Sony televisions will vary depending on the region.
