For 2019, the Office of the Vice President sets its sight to reach out to more poor communities across the country through its flagship anti-poverty program, Angat Buhay.

This means the OVP will also create more partnerships here and abroad to make Angat Buhay sustainable.
Vice President Leni Robredo, who campaigns for those in the fringes of society, said her office will continue to provide assistance to the marginalized sector this year.
“Patuloy na isinusulong ng OVP, sa pamamagitan ng #AngatBuhay, ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan upang labanan ang kahirapan,” she said in a Facebook post.
(The OVP, through #AngatBuhay, will continuously push for the importance of cooperation and helping each other to fight poverty.)
“Ang misyon na ito ay walang kinikilalang kulay, lugar, o estado sa buhay (This mission knows no color, place, or social status),” Robredo stressed.
The OVP has various projects such as building classrooms and health care centers, financial training for women, feeding programs, providing capital funds for local farmers, and livelihood projects for agri-entrepreneurs.
Angat Buhay has mobilized a total of P300 million worth of resources for the benefit of 374,188 individuals from 176 of the poorest and farthest communities.
In partnerships with more than 250 private organizations, Robredo’s program provided help to many Filipinos in different parts of the country:
• P95 million for education, classroom and dormitory construction that benefited 138,874 school children
• P32 million for women empowerment
• P24 million for rural development that benefited farmers, fishermen and other sectors
• P17 million for health care
• P24 million for food and nutrition, play garden and other interventions
• P22 million for housing and resettlement
• P85.6 million for relief and rehabilitation services that benefited calamity victims
Some of the towns that the Vice President had brought her anti-poverty program in 2018 were Agutaya, Palawan; Tanay, Rizal; Caramoan, Camarines Sur; Panglao, Bohol; Itogon, Benguet; San Remigio, Cebu; Cotabato City, Maguindanao; and Lamitan City, Basilan, among others.
