TACLOBAN CITY – Five newly identified drug personalities were arrested in a drug bust here Wednesday night.
The arrests came after Tacloban achieved recognition as the first drug-cleared highly urbanized city in the Visayas.
An area is declared drug-free once it has been cleared of drug dens, pushers, financiers, users.
Four of the suspects are from Tacloban and one from Marabut, Samar.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director for Eastern Visayas Edgar Jubay identified them as Christopher Zeta, 28, a resident of Barangay 106 Santo Nino; Rex Amistoso, 31, of Barangay 109 V&G Subdivision; Vincent Los Pobres, 30, and Philip Los Pobres, 23, both residents of Barangay 36, Sabang, Tacloban; and Albert Tupaz, 35, of Tinabanan, Marabut.
Found in the house in Barangay 106 North Hill were five plastic sachets of shabu weighing about 50 grams and with an estimated market value of P340,000.
Jubay said the suspects were brought to the PDEA Regional Office detention facility.
