Saturday dawn blaze hits Davao City

DAVAO CITY – About P2.7 million worth of property was razed in a fire incident in Barangay Matina Crossing, early morning Saturday.

According to Davao City Fire District spokesperson Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 2 Ramil Gillado, 26 houses were burned down, while two other residences were partially damaged in the fire that reached the third alarm.

Gillado said the fire started from the second floor of the house of a certain Victoria Bago inside a compound on Diamond Street, Sto. Niño at aroud 4:49 a.m.

He said the fire immediately spread to neighboring houses.

Gillado said the incident was declared fire out at 8:27 a.m., even as fire investigators were still determining the cause of the blaze.
