DAVAO CITY – Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) will implement tight security measures on Sunday (December 30) when President Rodrigo R. Duterte leads the commemoration of the 122nd anniversary of the martyrdom of national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal here.

PRO 11 Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales said there will be a multi-layer security that will be deployed to ensure the safety of the president.
Morales said there will be maximum deployment of cops on every corner in the city during the celebration at Rizal Park along San Pedro Street.
He appealed to the public for their cooperation by submitting themselves for inspection at the checkpoints that will be posted in random areas.
City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) chief Dionisio Abude also bared there will be five major roads that will be closed in the city during the commemoration.
Abude said these are the streets of San Pedro corner Anda, C.M.Recto corner San Pedro, Bolton corner Rizal, Ponciano corner Rizal, Pichon corner Anda going to Andres Bonifacio Rotonda.
He also said a no parking policy will be strictly enforced from 1 p.m. onwards, and warned that any vehicle found to be parked on these streets will be immediately towed.
With the closure of these streets, Abude expected heavy traffic in the streets of Pelayo, Rizal, and Anda, and portions of C.M. Recto, Quezon Boulevard, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Chinatown area and Mc Arthur Highway.
