K-pop boy band BTS and EXO emerged as the most tweeted K-pop accounts in the Philippines for 2018.
Twitter released its 2018 data for the country and it said entertainment ruled the platform and dominated the conversation once again.
#BTS and #EXO copped the first two places in the list of top 10 hashtags in the Philippines in 2018.
“BTS fans continue to show their love for their idols across the country through the platform. Looking back, Filipino fans rooted for them at the Kids’ Choice Awards, which contributed to the band’s success in winning the orange blimp for Favorite Global Music Star,” according to Twitter.
EXO’s getting the No. 2 slot showed that ‘the K-pop scene is truly strong in the Philippines.’ EXO held their EXO Planet concert in Manila on April 28.
Completing the top 10 hashtags in the country in 2018 are #MORPinoyBiga10, #ABSCBNBall2018, #MaineMendoza, #PushAwardsMayWards, #Mayward, #DyisIsItManila, #ALDUBWithBroadwayBoys and #TheHowsOfUs.
In the list of 2018’s most tweeted about K-pop accounts in the Philippines, BTS (@BTS_twt) took the No. 1 spot followed by EXO (@weareoneEXO), BTS/Big Hit (bts_bighit), GOT7 (@GOT7Official), Big Hit Entertainment (@BigHitEnt), Soompi (@soompi), NCT (@NCTsmtown), Super Junior (@SJofficial), Monsta X (@OfficialMonstaX) and Red Velvet (@RVsmtown).
For the top 10 most tweeted about K-pop hashtags in the Philippines in 2018, #BTS garnered the top spot followed by #EXO, #Seventeen, #GOT7, #Jimin (BTS member), #BlackPink, #Twice, #NCT, #WannaOne and #Taehyung (BTS member).
Overall, the most liked tweet in the world in 2018 is BTS member J-Hope’s #InMyFeelingsChallenge video posted on the BTS account on July 23, which has garnered 1.75 million likes to date.
