Benguet lady cop cited for honesty

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera on Monday hailed the honesty and dedication to duty of Chief Inspector Thrislyn Sagpaey who did not think twice about returning a misplaced bag of a senior citizen containing almost P40,000 cash.

Superintendent Pelita Tacio, Cordillera regiobnal police information officer, said that George I. Walsiyen, 78, of Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet, was about to srttle his tax obligation at Landbank – La Trinidad when he noticed that his sling bag was missing.
Fortunately, Sagpaey found the senior citizen’s bag at Health 101 Restaurant and got in touch with the owner’s son.
Walsiyen claimed his bag the fiollowing day at the office of the Regional Operations Plans Division (ROPD), where Sagpaey is assigned.
A grateful Walsiyen offered the lady police officer a P2,000 as a reward.
Sagpaey, however, politely refused and strssed that it is fulfilling enough to be of help to the senior citizen, who also woshed her luck because of her noble deed.
