Police in Valenzuela City arrested a man who was caught stealing 12 kilos of pork worth about P2,651 on Friday.

Arrested was Dante Pinande Mañacop, 56, a native of Angeles, Pampanga, and residing on Villareal Street, Novaliches, Quezon City.
Investigation showed that Jomar Labasan Herrera was entering his meat store at the Maysan Flea Market on Tongco Street corner G. Marcelo Street, Barangay Maysan, when he saw Mañacop inside, stealing pork meat from his freezer.
The suspect was brought to the Maysan Barangay Hall and later turned over to the police.
Mañacop said he stole the meat to cook and serve it at his best friend’s birthday party in Novaliches this month.
He claimed that there were no flea markets in Quezon City where he could get pork meat so he went all the way to Valenzuela.
A complaint of theft will be filed against the suspect.
