Weeks ahead of the Christmas Day, the country’s top cop has one wish for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and that is for all police officers who have ‘misguided souls’ to find their way and be able to work as a team with the good ones.
PNP chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde said he also asked the 192,000-strong members of the PNP to continuously support the police organization.
“Ako ay bumabati ng advanced merry Christmas sa inyong lahat at sana always kahit hindi Pasko ay manalig tayo sa Diyos at magpasalamat tayo sa blessing niya (I want to greet all of you an advanced merry Christmas and I hope that even if it’s not Christmas, we’d still have faith in God and we’d thank Him for His blessings to us),” Albayalde said.
He also called all of the PNP personnel to support the transformation programs of the organization so that the people would continuously trust them.
“Sana we work as a team, sana wala nang maging pasaway sa atin at mawala na ‘yung misguided souls sa atin (I hope that we [continue to] work as a team, that there would be no more hard-headed cops and misguided souls in our ranks),” Albayalde said.
“Ito ang gusto ng ating mga kababayan, ng ating organization na magbago at mag-transform ang ating organization for a better professional police service (This is what we and the public want, for our organization to transform into a better professional police service),” he added.
The PNP is expected to deploy tens of thousands of cops nationwide to secure the public this Christmas season. All of the police officers’ leaves are also expected to be cancelled as they go on full alert status.
Last week, the PNP conducted the traditional lighting of Christmas tree and lanterns at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
The PNP also released P7 billion for the 2018 year-end bonus of its uniformed and non-uniformed personnel nationwide.
