6 killed in road mishap in Digos City

DAVAO CITY – Six people were killed in a road accident after a public utility bus collided with a tricycle along the national highway in Digos City, Davao del Sur on Wednesday morning.

The Digos City Police Station identified the bus driver as Fermin C. Macalos of Mindanao Star, a resident of Makilala, North Cotabato while those who died included the tricycle driver, two adults, and three children who are still unidentified as of this writing.

Police report disclosed that the collision between the tricycle and the bus happened along Davao-Cotabato road at around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The bus was going to its Digos City Satellite Terminal while the tricycle was heading towards Sta. Cruz town.

The victims were immediately rushed to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Macalos is now detained at the police station.
