Paolo Contis considers having a child with girlfriend of three years, actress LJ Reyes, the “biggest news and blessing” he has received in 2018.
“I really want to have another girl,” he tole Bulletin Entertainment. “Girls are sweet and make you feel you’re wanted.”
Paolo’s other daughters from previous relationship are Xonia Aitania and Xalene Abriana.
Though he’s a strict dad, Paolo isn’t overprotective of them as he doesn’t want them to feel “trapped and confined.”
Asked how the baby has strengthened his relationship with LJ, the actor said, “I have my girls and she has Aki. So once you’re in that phase of your life where the kids are involved, it’s another story altogether.”
How does it feel to become a father?
“I remember how happy I was the first time I saw my eldest, then also my second daughter. Fast forward after eight years and I’m still excited and nervous with this one.”
We asked Paolo about the early months of LJ’s pregnancy.
“We didn’t know she was pregnant. She was even taping for ‘The Cure.’ As the show neared its end, we learned she was already on her ninth week.”
Thankfully, LJ is not having a delicate pregnancy. Lately, she’s been experiencing “morning sickness” but only at night. Other than that, she’s “very healthy.”
The two are preparing their daughter’s nursery room. LJ picked the color of the wall and bought the things the baby would need.
So…wedding bells soon?
“Of course,” Paolo answered. “We’re just waiting for the right time, the right opportunity when everything is fixed. That’s what we all want – to settle down and build our family – and it will come.”
Paolo’s been working doubly hard since leaning he’d be a father thrice over.
The actor has two movies this month. In cinemas since yesterday is “Through Night And Day,” where he plays Ben, the fiancé of Alessandra de Rossi’s character, Jen. The film highlights the dynamics of a couple’s relationship as they venture into a trip of a lifetime to witness the infamous northern lights in Iceland.
He is also set to star in comedy film “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap,” alongside Jerald Napoles, Jelson Bay, and Pepe Herrera.
Paolo is one of the mainstays of the country’s longest-running gag show, “Bubble Gang.” He is also the voice behind Koboy in the first Filipino-made anime series, “Barangay 143,” both on GMA.
