SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – Fire razed the historic APEC Villa clubhouse, now known as the Triboa Country Club early Monday morning.
Fire Witnesses said the conflagration broke out at around 7:40 a.m. after explosions were heard on the ceiling of the lobby.
Guests and employees rushed out of the facility as the fire started to spread.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority firefighters rushed the scene and extinguished the fire.
The blaze destroyed lobby, sales office and model units.
Important documents, office equipment, including the diorama that was a prominent centerpiece in the lobby were also destroyed.
No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
The fire was placed under control at around 8:45 a.m.
