K-pop boy band EXO has released their fifth studio album “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo.”
It has 11 tracks including the carrier single “Tempo,” which is recorded in Korean and Chinese versions.
Following its release, “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo” topped iTunes’ Top Albums charts in 46 countries and regions including the Philippines, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Chile, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, while “Tempo” also became No. 1 on Korean music charts.
“We are glad to greet you as EXO after over a year. We are really grateful for it and looking forward to our promotions,” said leader Suho during the group’s recent press conference, according to K-pop Herald.
Baekhyun thanked fans for their support, saying, “It wouldn’t have been possible without EXO-L. We thank them for supporting us whether we are promoting individually or as a group. They are like a root of a tree.”
He added that “rather than setting records, we try to enjoy stages. We have been pursuing such a mindset since our debut, and maybe that has led to our records. And we will keep doing so.”
“Don’t Mess Up My Tempo” has racked up 1.1 million in pre-orders and with this, EXO are poised to have at least 10 million in record sales throughout their career.
Before the new album was released, EXO’s cumulative album sales reached 8.9 million from four studio albums, two mini-albums and four winter albums.
Their four studio albums garnered at least one million in sales each, earning them the title quadruple million sellers. When “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo” reaches one million in sales, EXO will become quintuple million sellers.
