"We need to modify and prioritize programs and provide more meaningful projects that will lead to positive results for the benefit of Calabarzonians," said Janairo.

Recently, the DOH regional office conducted a “Collaborative Planning Workshop on Quality Management for City Health Offices, Rural Health Units and Barangay Health Stations" for the Batangas province.

“The objective of the workshop is to improve the quality of care in the community level by providing the needed provisions and support to our local government units, such as regulating and standardizing the local health facilities through accreditation and licensing and resolving the lack of manpower in health," said the health official.

“Resolving these inequities in health can be done only through a collaborative effort because health is not the responsibility of DOH alone, it is everybody’s concern and only through concerted endeavor of all involved partner agencies, local government officials and health workers can we provide the needed health care improvements for an efficient, effective and sustainable health care delivery in the community,” he added.
