Outstanding Negrenses named

BACOLOD CITY – Ceres matriarch Olivia Yanson is among the five Outstanding Negrosanons who will be awarded this year by the Negros Occidental provincial government which marked the 120th Negros Day Celebration at the Provincial Capitol here Monday.

The 120th Cinco De Noviembre celebration of the provincial government, which carries the theme  “Pasidungog sa mga Bag-o nga Baganihan sang Probinsya” will also cite and honor modern Negrense heroes represented by the five Outstanding Negrosanons.

These five awardees this year are Yanson as the Outstanding Negrense Awardee in the field of humanitarian works, Cherrie De Erit Atilano in the field of sustainable agri-tourism, Jean Lee Patindol in the field of academe and literature, Roberto Montelibano in the field of business and entrepreneurship and the Negros Occidental Historical Council, Inc. in the field of history.

Governor Alfredo Marañon and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the ceremonies.
