DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo R. Duterte is set to distribute land in Boracay island this month.
This was bared by his long-time aide and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go in an interview with Davao reporters.
Go said the president will give certificates of land ownership award (CLOA) to qualified beneficiaries in the island probably on the first week of November.

He said Duterte did not attend the reopening of the island after six months of rehabilitation since he let the concerned secretaries of the concerned departments to grace the event last October 26.
“Mas interesado po siyang dumaan dito sa likod at hindi po sa harap ng beach. (He prefers to pass through the back portion of the island and not the beach front), he said.
Go said the president is very vocal in his previous speeches during the closure of the island that he will declare it as a land reform area.
It can be recalled that Duterte said Boracay island is a forest and agriculture zone. But he said there has been no proclamation by any president classifying it as a commercial area.
But Go said that if the House of Representatives allows a land classification and distribution given the presence of resorts in the area, the president will abide by it.
