Isabela province was whipped with strong winds brought by Typhoon Rosita Tuesday morning, hours after it made landfall in the area.
Netizen Ampiong Legaspi was able to capture the strength of Rosita’s winds in his home in Cauayan City, Isabela.
The video showed how Rosita’s extreme winds ripped off roofs and toppled trees in the area.
PAGASA located “Rosita” in the vicinity of Echague, Isabela as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.
“Rosita” was moving at 25 kilometers per hour (kph) in a westerly direction, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gusts reaching 230 kph.
PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains are expected over Northern and Central Luzon and warned of storm surge of up to 3 meters over the coastal areas of Isabela, Aurora, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union and Pangasinan.
