Whew, Zeus!

There are a lot of things dancer-actor Zeus Collins wants to achieve in life especially now that he’s starting to make a name in show business. Among these are buying a house for his family, owning a dance studio and gym, and having an apartment all to himself.

Career-wise, he’d like to star in a local version of dance drama movies ala “Magic Mike” and “Step Up.” Hopefully, it would see him paired with his longtime crush, dancer-actress Maja Salvador.

Asked to name his top five dream dance partners, he also rattled off the names of Dawn Chang, Yassi Pressman, Kim Chiu, and Sarah Lahbati. He said a girl who dances gets a lot of “points” from him.

Asked about his own dancing skills, Zeus said his forte is breakdancing. Dance, he pointed out, keeps him fit even with few visits to the gym. More than that, it keeps stress away, he said.

No wonder that if he has to choose between dancing and acting, the first would win out, hands down!

“I was already working as a dancer at 15 years old,” he said. “I never tried to work as a waiter in any fast food restaurant or whatever -- it was always just dancing.”

Even ballet?

“I am willing to learn that.”

Second concert

More than a year since he first took on the concert stage, this Star Magic artist returns bigger, better and bolder with “The Dance Machine Concert.”

Produced by Istudyo ni Pipay, the Hashtags member promises to showcase new moves.

Apart from being involved in the choreography, Zeus is hands-on with the lineup, the repertoire and even the wardrobe. With only a few more weeks before his sophomore concert, Zeus is neck-deep into rehearsals.

As it is a concert, he will also sing that night.

His guest performers are Dawn, Ryan Bang and co-Hashtags members Nikko Natividad, Paulo Angeles, Jimboy Martin, Charles Kieron, and Jameson Blake.

Set to bring her own brand of dance party to the show is young performer and YouTuber Lady Pipay. Recall that their “Bboom Bboom” dance cover even landed among trending topics upon release, with over 350,000 views to date.

Directed by dancer-choreographer Nesh Janiola, “The Dance Machine Concert: Zeus Collins” is on Nov. 3 at SM Skydome.
