Wife of slain ex-solon files COC

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Incumbent La Union 2nd District Representative Sandra Y. Eriguel has filed her certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections provincial office here.

Lawyer Cherry Ontalan, her chief of staff, filed the COC on behalf of Rep. Eriguel because she and her family are still under heavy security following the murder of her husband on May 12, 2018 that remains unresolved.

Former Rep. Franny Eriguelwas killed by armed men during a campaign sortie in Barangay Capas, Agoo, La Union.

Rep. Eriguel said the killing was politically motivated.

Rep. Eriguel was elected Representative of La Union’s 2nd District in 2016 and is seeking a second term under PDP-Laban.

Her daughter Stefanie, incumbent mayor of Agoo town, is also seeking re-election.
