Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is Kapuso no more.
The Asia’s Songbird officially bids goodbye to her home network of two decades, GMA-7, an executive of the network confirmed in a statement released, Saturday.
“After two decades, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially said her goodbyes to the Kapuso Network. We understand her decision to join her husband and we wish her well as she pursues other opportunities outside GMA Network,” Senior Vice President and Entertainment Group Head Lilybeth Rasonable said.
Regine also announced her departure in the anniversary episode of cooking talk show “Sarap Diva,” which she hosted since it was launched six years ago.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN network on Friday announced that Regine is joining “ASAP: Live In Sydney,” the concert variety program’s latest overseas special, scheduled on Oct. 20 at the ICC Sydney Theatre.
She will share the stage with Kapuso-turned-Kapamilya stars, her husband Ogie Alcasid, Jaya and Janno Gibbs.
No further announcement has been made on Regine’s future appearances on ABS-CBN after the show.
Rumors of Regine’s transfer first circulated last August. It was further ignite when she attended the recently-concluded ABS-CBN Ball, even posting for photos with some of the network’s executives.
Regine’s last show with GMA-7 was “The Clash.”
