Vice President Leni Robredo is set to fly to the United States and Canada this week to address a leadership forum and explore possible partnerships for her flagship Angat Buhay program.
In her weekly radio show, “BISErbisyong Leni,” Robredo disclosed she will speak at the forum upon the invitation of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C .
Robredo said she would make use of her trip to the U.S to also look for prospective partners in her anti-poverty program.
“Kasi on the side mayroon tayong gagawin—halimbawa, number one, iyong pag-assess kung puwede pang magkaroon ng Angat Buhay partners doon,” she said. (Because on the side, we will do other things—for example, number one, is to assess if we can have Angat Buhay partners there.)
Apart from attending the forum, Robredo will also formalize her office’s partnership with Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) USA Foundation.
ANCOP USA is an Angat Buhay partner, which donated medical supplies and equipment to the Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary in Naga City for the delivery of better health services.
“Magmi-meeting ulit kami sa Washington, DC kasi gustong i-formalize, gustong i-formalize iyong partnership. Tapos i-e-explore iyong iba pang areas na puwedeng mag-partner,” she said. (We will meet again in Washington, DC because we want to formalize our partnership. Then we will explore the other areas, where can also be partners.)
While she is in the U.S, the Vice President will also attend to her other speaking engagements in four cities near Washington, DC.
“Ang dami nating pending na invitations. Tiningnan natin kung mayroong mga pending invitations sa panahon na nandoon ako,” she said. (We have several pending invitations. We will check if we can attend to these during my stay.)
