Police presented Tuesday 20 closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to the media, showing the itinerary of the unidentified assailants before and after shooting down the bank official, Almeric Carlo Aldaba, 49, male, married, and a resident of Baler Street, West Avenue, Quezon City, while inside his car and waiting his daughter to arrive from school in front of KFC Recto Avenue corner San Sebastian Street at about 9:10 p.m. on Sept. 6.

The gunman in white shirt, black jacket, ball cap, and sling bag and his back-up, wearing a blue shirt and sling bag, were seen walking along Recto Avenue corner Severino Reyes Street toward Ever Gotesco few minutes before the crime.

After successfully killing the victim, the two managed to escape toward the direction of San Sebastian Street beside KFC.

Based on the video footage, two passers-by saw the gunman inserting the firearm he used in the crime inside his bag.

The succeeding recordings showed that the suspects walked calmly, took a short jeepney ride, and returned to walking until they reached again the area near the crime scene.

Investigators are yet to establish the motive in the killing since no substantial information could be obtained from the victim’s cellular phone. But they already dismissed the crime as work-related.

“We are looking at two angles for motive in the killing—target by opportunity such as a case of robbery or carnapping or personal grudge. It was observed that the execution of the killing was planned since the suspects were not in a hurry from where they took off. They walked at least 200 meters long as if they were in control of and had information about the victim,” said MPD Director for Operations Police Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra.

Yarraalso said that they are looking at another person of interest, who is a close friend of the victim.

MPD offers P50,000 while the victim’s family is giving an unspecified amount as reward to whoever can pinpoint the suspects.

“What I only want to happen in this case is to identify and jail the criminals responsible in the death of my son,” said Atanasio Torres Aldaba, father of the victim.

Informants may call the MPD Homicide Section at (02) 524-43-11 or 0917-960-7922.
